This allows you to have some of the benefits of a Windows service, such as the ability to run an application even when no user is logged on the computer, the ability to run an application under a specified user account, the ability to allow an application to survive logoff/logon sequences, hence saving the overhead of restarting it for each new user, and so on.
For instance, you can run a dialer application as a service to automatically connect a computer to the Internet following unattended reboots.

- Added a help guide to the software package.
- Added the /Delay option to avoid dealing with service dependencies.
- Changed the desktop interaction default from /Interact:1 to /Interact:0 because Windows stopped allowing services to interact with the desktop since Vista.
- Updated the software to comply with Vista requirements. Previously, the program and its installer ran on Vista in compatibility mode. Now, they run on Vista in native mode, comply with UAC and other Vista technologies, and are digitally signed with an Authenticode certificate to ensure their integrity and authenticity. These major enhancements provide a better and safer experience when running the software on all supported Windows versions.
- Redesigned the application to use the Unicode standard and improve its Windows integration and multilingual support.
- Redesigned the installer to use Microsoft MSI technology and comply with recent Windows guidelines.
- Refused service if the program file AppToService.exe is renamed.
- Upgrading to this major update requires a licensing fee for existing customers who are licensed to use older versions.

The OEM license entitles your company to distribute an unlimited number of copies of AppToService under the conditions stated above.
When you purchase an OEM license, you will receive the OEM version of AppToService that is more suitable for distribution. The program file is much smaller than its shareware counterpart and does not contain an install wizard or shareware registration elements such as time locks and nag screens. The license agreement is customized to your company and customers, and shareware registration files are excluded. The ~40KB OEM package will be attached to your e-mail receipt.
